Therapeutic Residential Special Education
The Crystal Springs Childrens Program offers specialized programs, therapies and services to children and adolescents, ages 3 to 22, with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, vision and hearing impairments, complex medical conditions and behavioral challenges.
Our academic approach, therapeutic services, residential programs, clinical support and medical care are highly individualized and designed to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each child, in an environment that stresses individual strengths and relationships.

Crystal Springs School
Crystal Springs School is overseen by the Director of Education, while classrooms are staffed by licensed special education teachers and trained teacher aides. Within the context of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, our academic program incorporates traditional subject matter, including Math, Science, Technology, History and Language Arts, with lessons and techniques being modified as necessary for content and delivery, so that students are actively engaged and truly learning. Strong emphasis is placed on life skill development, language and communication, utilization of assistive technology, fine and gross motor skills and socialization. Licensed therapists further complement the educational experience of our students by designing strategies that our teachers use to effectively instruct students with visual, hearing, orientation and mobility impairments.
Campus Life
Our sprawling, 45-acre campus and beautifully maintained residences provide the perfect ‘home away from home’ for students in need of support beyond that of a day program. The primary focus of the residential program is to teach basic skills of everyday living by setting goals that encourage and lead to the highest possible level of independence. Homes are comfortable and inviting and students are encouraged to decorate their own bedrooms and living spaces to reflect their own unique personality and style. We strongly believe in family involvement and offer on-campus accommodations for families and loved ones who may be visiting from out of town.
